firstChild Property


Retrieves a reference to the first child in the childNodes collection of the object.

What's New for Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6

This property now applies to the attribute object.

Syntax

Scripting[ oElement = ] object.firstChild

Possible Values

oElement Object that receives the first child object.

The property is read-only. The property has no default value.

Example

This example implements the firstChild attribute to obtain the first child element of an object.
