Alright. We all know the lightsabers from many Star Wars films. Well and photoshop images XD. This is quite an easy way to make a noice looking one,that I got while making my recent fangame. That I'm still working on . Well not the Sith side,that's done,WHATEVER. Here we go. Seeing this is just the effects,lets not worry about anyone hold it right now. Go ahead and open Flash,and draw a blade. I used the rectangle tool and curved the top of the blade. This is already the stage you choose the color at. I'll make mines green. Make sure the color you want is the color of the ENTIRE blade. 
Once you got that go ahead and select it all,it's already selected in that pic. You can click on the frame it's in on the timeline,or use transform. Whatever,you better know how to select,or just close Flash now...XD.
Once it's all selected,scroll up and highlight modify,then then click soften fill edges. Like this pic here.
Once there. Make sure both numbers are 20 and the Expand radio button is chosen. Once again,like this pic here.
Obviously,click okay XD. It should look huge and solid(when all selected),it's supposed to for the desired effect. Deselect it now
and it should look like this.
Now,click the middle so just that is selected
With it still selected,go to fill and choose white. Not a shade of white but absolutely 0,0,0 white XD.
Now deselect. Can't see it well enough on the gray,so I made the background of the .fla black and dragged the saber over it. Zoomed in and WAHMA MIA. Should look like this.
Noice eh. Here's pic from one of my games where my char is actually holding it.
Ya see,noice looking lightsaber effect and not too hard at all. Draw,soften edges,change inside fill to white,done. XD
Some tips:
It obviously looks better with a skinnier blade. Just use fill transform if you make it too big at first(after the inside is filled white). I did that with the green.
Welp that's it. Maybe it's too simple to submit but who cares. It's selected as basic for a reason XD. May the Force be with you.
