  Car Paint Change

Start by, *gasp*, opening up a pic of your car. I would suggest adjusting the view so your car is as big as possible, while still entirely on the screen.

Select the Polygonal Lasso Tool

Now, carefully outline the main body of your car. Right now you want to worry about getting all of your car inside of the area you are outlining. Dont worry if you are including headlights, windows, mirrors, etc.

(you will not have the yellow lines like in this picture, they are just so you can see)

Now you wanna exclude all mirrors, scoops, lights, etc. from the paint change. With your Polygonal Lasso Tool still selected, press and hold Alt while outlining everything that is inside your already outlined area but is not painted.

(again, you wont have the yellow lines like in this picture, they are just so you can see)

Now the fun part. Time to change the paint color.

Press Ctrl + U to open up the Hue/Saturation menu. Play with these settings until you find a color you like.
  • Hue adjusts the color.
  • Saturation adjusts how strong that color is.
  • Lighten changes how light/dark the color is.
Voila, new paint job!

More examples I did for fun...
