Hey everyone here at the
Today I'll show you how to create a neat text blast, its grate for sigs, and backgrounds You'll need Photo shop 6+ Lets start Create an new file like this below: Now use the paint bucket and fill it with black (#000000), Now add what ever text you want: Now Duplicate the text layer, then go to Image/rotate canvas/90* CW,then go to filter/polar coordinates/ (setting rectangular to polar),, now add wind(filter/stylize/wind) to the right, and hit CTRL+F 3 times, then filp it 90* CCW,should look like: Copy the first text layer then Merge the 2(blast and one normal layer) layers, Now we need to add color, I chose a gradient of #FF0000 & FFC000 & F6FF00 And you are done my friend!!!! if you want more stuff done to up, move the normal text layer up apply the grad, then add a drop down shadow If you liked this tutorial check out Christian Web Board This post has been edited by cweb: Jun 7 2004, 06:13 PM |

Very nice, cweb! Would you consider having it published on the CWM home page?

Hey cweb that's real neat
I went through this myself - there is a step you missed in the instructions (I learnt quite a lot from your tute!): QUOTE Now Duplicate the text layer, then go to Image/rotate canvas/90* CW,then go to filter/polar coordinates/ (setting polar to rectangular), now add wind(filter/stylize/wind) to the right, and hit CTRL+F 3 times, then filp it 90* CCW,should look like: Should be: QUOTE Now Duplicate the text layer, then go to Image/rotate canvas/90* CW,then go to filter/polar coordinates/ (setting polar to rectangular), now add wind(filter/stylize/wind) to the right, and
hit CTRL+F 3 times, then go to filter/polar coordinates/ (setting rectangular to polar), then filp it 90* CCW,should look like: -------------------- Paul Davey

You also get an interesting effect if you first do "Rectangular To Polar", and then do "Polar to Rectangular" (i.e. the other way round).
